English summary – equality at home

We have chosen to work with equality between the sexes at home (Jämställdhet i hemmet). With our work we want to inform people what equality really is, and to show what it is like in reality.
What we have investigated is; who is doing what at home, and what do people of today think is typical women’s work at home, and what’s typical for men to do.
We have compared people’s answers just to get the right idea about how it is today in Sweden.
We have also read two articles about equality at home in England and USA. We have also compared that information to what it is like in Sweden.

Fashions Effect on Young People

Fashions Effect on Young People

We have worked with fashions effect on youth. The reason we chose this subject is that we find it very interesting and relevant. The purpose of our project is making young people realize that they are strongly affected by fashion and society in their choice of clothes. We have interviewed young people about their clothing. We made a power point about our subject, where we showed in pictures what we have accomplished.

Animal Rights - TAKE ACTION

Abstract : Animal Rights - TAKE ACTION

We choose to work with animal rights because we feel sorry for the animals, what humans are doing against them is terrible and wrong and animals do not have a voice to say no to animals experiments and all the other things we are using them for.
We decided to find out how the youth of today could do to help the animals. We contacted Djurens Rättigheter, which is an animal rights organisation.
We went to their office and they gave us information and lots of help. We learned a lot and we found out things we never had heard of before.
The following days were spent with giving away newspapers from Djurens rätt to all kinds of people, old, young, women and men but we spent most time talking to the young and telling them how they could help. We also collected money and names of people who were against animal experiments.

What surprised us was that we had some people in our school who thought that making clothes of animal was a right thing to do so we had our little "war" at school. It started out with one picture we had put up where it said "Animals are not clothes" and then they put up a picture where it said "Animals are clothes. Fashionistas right in society." It made us very upset. And then all of a sudden there were pictures everywhere, we had ours and they had theirs. Here’s one wall where we put pictures of animals being used for clothes to make them and the rest of the school realise what was really going on and soon the whole school was talking about it, and that’s about 800 people. We had them all on our side.

We gave our soul and hearts in to this because we all believed we could change the situation.
We are very proud of our work and what we accomplished together. We worked as a team and we did it well.

In our Take Action work, we wrote about Alcohol and young people who later also become our title. We wrote about how alcohol harms your body and we wrote down 10 reasons why you shouln't drink before you are 18. We also took information about dealing, that it happens more often than we think. We also had the chance to talk to a dealer and got an interview with him.

Why we choosed to write about alcohol was to try to get young people to drink less alcohol and actually wait untill they turn 18. The age when they start drinking is getting younger and younger. We also want to work and make the age rises again.
The dealing part with we wrote about is also a way to get older people to not buy alcohol to young people. If nobody buys out to them, they can't drink. Then it automatically increasethe age when people begins to drink.

Swedish Take Action Project

Behind the Scenes of:
Take Action

”Take Action”, is the name of this whole project and that’s exactly what we all did, we took action, and got one step closer to making this world a better place.
Our team had a bumpy start since we couldn’t decide which problem we should discuss, our first idea was the economy in other words we thought the taxes were too high, three fourths of the team liked that idea one fourth did not. After about two days the team started questioning if we’d really picked the right topic, so we had another meeting where we discussed the dilemma. We soon switched the topic and went in a completely different direction, we chose drugs and how drugs are effecting the youths of today.
After the first week we had to dismiss one of our team members since he missed almost the whole first week where we decided the most important aspects of our project. After that, the team started working like crazy. One of the problems with our group was the fact that we were all so different and we all had different opinions and priorities.
So to solve the problem we had another group meeting and made a schedule over the next coming weeks, (we never really followed the schedule though). The next coming weeks were really stressful since we were one man short, so we worked like crazy to make the design and the report completely flawless.
After the first two weeks we started writing our separate reports about different drugs, Sebastian was assigned to write about marijuana, Josefin was given Ecstasy and Linnea got Cocaine. After a few days the team had written their report, turns out Sebastian got confused and wrote about another drug, but it didn’t really ruin anything.
Then at the end of the third week, in other words the week before we were supposed to hand in the final project we found out that Sebastian was going to move that very same weekend. So we asked him to give us what he had written, but it turned out he got confused again and never gave us anything and just moved.
So one third our project disappeared, then again he didn’t do that much so I guess it just became easier when he left, because now we could make quick decisive decisions.
After one lost project, several hours of sitting in front of computers, two team members disappearing, and a whole lot of drama, we found ourselves at the beginning of the last week of our first big project. But we pulled ourselves together and finished the project on time. We’re very proud of the finished result.
